How long does a session normally last?

The initial session typically lasts 90 minutes. This includes a diagnostic assessment and development of treatment goals/plan. Follow-up sessions typically last 60 minutes.

What services are offered?

Counseling for anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, veteran specific therapy, end of life issues, anger, rejection, low self-esteem and poor self-image, and substance use disorder.
Therapies utilized include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy; Narrative Therapy; Solution-Focused Therapy; Trauma-Focused Therapy; 12-Step and Celebrate Recovery for Substance Use Disorders; Faith-based approach for couples who want to get married or for those who are married and having difficulty getting along or contemplating divorce.
Support Groups for grief and chronic illnesses, including cancer, as well as groups for caregivers are provided.

How long can I expect to be in counseling?

This is individualized and can be shorter or longer than what one might compare to another individual’s course of therapy. Usually anticipate six to eight weeks for weekly sessions, and biweekly sessions for an additional one to two months depending on your progress.

Do you accept insurance?

It's free to sign up and you can enter all your insurance and alternate payment information in the portal. SonderMind support can assist in getting matched with this therapist. Each agency above have insurances that I am credentialed with; however simply, HelloAlma accepts all Cigna and Aetna Plans (excluding Medicare advantage plans) and SonderMind accepts all other plans listed in the Insurance Accepted tab on the home page.

How much does a session cost for private pay?

Initial visit is $125 an hour and follow-up sessions are $125 an hour. A sliding scale fee is offered; please email maryb@soundmindsoundlifellc.com for more information on this sliding scale
Group Sessions are $40 an hour for each individual attending sessions.
Couple Therapy is 150 an hour for the initial session and $125 for each subsequent session.

What can I expect during my first counseling session with Sound Mind Sound Life?

During your first session with Sound Mind Sound Life, your therapist will ask you questions to get to know you better and understand what brings you to counseling. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the counseling process. A specialized treatment plan will be formulated that focuses on your goals.
